The Embrace scar therapy is a silicone-based wound shield applied with a device to an incision or recently formed scar. The difference between Embrace and other silicone shields that you buy OTC is that this device applies the shield with tension to help keep skin from pulling away as a wound heals around a cut and forming a more noticeable scar.
